Teeth Whitening
14th September 2022
Tooth whitening is a great way to improve your smile by lightening the colour of your teeth. The shade of a person’s teeth can vary according to factors such as genetics, lifestyle habits and age. The natural whiteness of teeth gradually fades, and the teeth may start to look yellow. Here at Denmark Street Dental, we provide several options to improve the colour of your teeth, which suit different people at different budgets!
Although it is a safe method for whitening your teeth, because of the chemicals used, the General Dental Council (GDC) has advised that a registered dental professional should only carry out teeth whitening treatment.
What is the process?
After ensuring that your teeth and gums are healthy, our team will scan your smile using a digital 3D machine. This machine will take thousands of pictures of your teeth and will be sent to our in-house laboratory to manufacture your custom-made whitening trays.
Once manufactured, you will be provided with an appropriate whitening gel, which you will pour into the grooves of the trays. You will then place the trays in your mouth and allow the gel to penetrate and whiten your teeth. Most patients repeat this process for 14 – 30 days, depending on how discoloured their teeth are.
You will be invited for a final review appointment to ensure that your gums and teeth are healthy and that you are satisfied with the results.
